Tropical feeling
My oh my! This is one of the best smoothies I've ever made and tasted! I bought a big handful of Madeira bananas last week that were slowly ripening on the fruit basket. I normally freeze them but this time I didn't and have been eating them every now and again. Madeira bananas are smaller and harder than the most common South American bananas and are so much more flavourful! So I paired them with a leftover coconut milk I had in the fridge and added an extra flavouring: the cardamom. It tasted and felt like the most amazing spiced creamy custard!
Banana & Cardamom smoothie (serves 1)
1 cup coconut milk (I used leftover canned milk which added extra smootheness)
2 bananas
1 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 tsp honey
1/4 tsp bee pollen
1 cardamom pod, just the inside seeds
A pinch of salt
3-4 ice cubes
Place everything in a blender in that order. Blend until smooth. To serve, sprinkle a few hemp seeds and bee pollen and enjoy!
