Scotland: Loch Ness and Isle of Skye
I've been living in Scotland for more than six months and after visiting several places, the Isle of Skye continues to be one of my favourite places here.
Departing from Aberdeen, we divided the trip in two stages: Aberdeen - Loch Ness and Loch Ness - Skye. We spent one night in Loch Ness, visited Eileen Donan Castle on our way to Skye and then drove everywhere in the Isle of Skye. My top choices in Skye were the south, because of the dramatic landscape, and the west, particularly Neist Point. But Skye has many other attractions and with time, the Fairy Pools are also a beautiful place to visit, and so is Old Man of Storr, an impressive rock formation.
We were very relaxed regarding where to eat, preferring picnic style meals. But we did end up going out for dinner one of the nights. We went to The Old School Restaurant where everything was delicious and I highly recommend anyone visiting Skye to go there.
